Shopper I'm looking to use this cover as a protection from airport baggage conveyors, etc, as well as rain protection. Will it serve that purpose as well? And how does it cinch up around the pack? drawstring? elastic? Thanks! Scott
KARLA H I've honestly lucked out an never had to use in (for rain) and never tried using it for airport conveyor protection. Sorry I can't be more help.
WAYNE A Sorry to take so long to reply. I don't think that the pack cover will hold up well in an airport conveyor system, etc. It's great for rain protection though. It has an elastic band to hold it on. The cover is thin and light weight but seems to be a great design.
CALVIN C This cover uses a drawstring closure. The cover wraps around the top and bottom and two sides of the pack, but leaves a big enough opening that you can actually carry the pack by the straps. In the picture shown, the side not shown is quite open, so that you could hike with the cover on if you wanted too. As for conveyor protection, if there is anything hard inside of the cover, it will cause an abrasion to the cover wherever it strikes the conveyor. The material is like a heavyduty wind breaker, and will withstand some punishment, like bushes and maybe some branches, but I think it is really more for covering your pack while it is at rest. I use mine all the time to protect from morning dew and rain and it works great for this.
KEITH E This cover will not survive baggage handling equipment.. We stuff our loaded backpacks into large heavy duty cotton laundry type bags for airline and motor vehicle transport.
The bag cinches with elastic. Works fine for weather protection.
