I didn't think it possible to obtain a down sleeping bag for around $100.00, but it is! This bag is a GREAT deal for the money. Syn bags are good insulators for the price, but when pack space is an issue, you gotta go with a down bag. My only gripe is that the distribution of the fill is uneven in some parts of the bag. A problem that can be remedied by some careful fluffing with a bright light behind the bag to aid in seeing where the fill is bunching. Remember, never store your down bag in its stuff-sack. Always hang it up!

For the money, this bag is hard to beat, it packs smaller than I'd have expected, lofts well, isn't cut like a straight-jacket, has a nice hood with a drawcord that works well. it even has a usable draft collar at the neck. The material seems like it would have good water repellance though I didn't test it, and is soft to the touch, and feels quality. Would be comfy to sleep in.
Unfortunately that's where my review ends. The Cosmic 20 I received was completely missing the down in one of the baffle chambers at about mid-back. One more near the feet was obviously under-filled. Sadly, I had to send it back, and no direct exchange was possible, as there where no more in stock. I ended up having to spend twice the money on a bag that's only a little higher quality.

I hope I just got a rare lemon. Had it been properly made, this is an amazing bag for the money.

After borrowing an older version of this bag several times, I finally bought two of my own!

I enjoy weekend backpacking trips in cooler fall weather, and this bag is perfect. I am extremely happy with the size and weight of the bag. It fits easily in the bottom of my pack.

The bag in the stuff sack also fit inside a turkey-size plastic oven bag, which I used for water-proofing.

My Exped air pillow fit nicely inside the hood, and when deflated, I just tuck the pillow into the stuff sack with the bag. I have also used a Sea to Summit Reactor bag liner inside the bag for winter camping, and found that to be just as good as using a 0 degree bag.

My only complaint - and it is minor - is that I was not able to find two bags with zippers on the opposite sides. I would like to be able to zip two bags together for couples trips.

Only used once so far in 30 degree temps, warm, no cold spots, a little snug in shoulder area for me 5'9'' 210 lb broad shoulders, I should have went for the long for that reason. very impressed for the money.

I haven't used this bag on the trails yet, but plan to take it on a backpacking trip in Shenandoah national park. I laid in the sleeping bag in my living room, and it seems like it will work great. Very comfy!
