Shopper Is this a one piece pad? I've seen competing brands have velcro to attach two pads which leaves a gap in the middle and causes problems when it comes to the "spooning factor". Thanks in advance
T F Thanks everyone for your responses. I purchased this pad based on the reviews and your real life "spooning factor" experiences. Love it and as a bonus, I found when I make it a little on the firm side, my back and hip pain goes away!
MICHELLE F Yup, what they all said. Best damn pad I've ever owned, and no spooning problems.
MARNIE V This is indeed a one piece pad. It has a seam in the middle, which is so you can fold it in half longwise, but doesn't actually come apart. It is comfy, and good for two people. I would recommend this pad!
ANNE N It is a one piece pad with a groove down the middle, so you can fold it up. When it it inflated, the groove is not very noticable.
NICHOLAS W It's definitely one piece. It does fold in the middle, so there's a bit of a dip/gap between the two sections of the pad, but in my experience it has not created any significant spooning issues, especially when also used with a sheet or double-wide sleeping bag. Spoon away. :)
STAY T The Kelty Basecamp-Double Wide is one whole piece. There is a seam between the two pads. maybe about a half an inch in width
SHARON N Yes, this pad is one piece. It does have a slight depression in the middle that acts like a hinge so that you can fold it in half and it becomes twice as thick if only one person is using it. My husband and I share it and don't have any problems. In fact, we're incredibly pleased with this purchase.
LUCAS S "My wife and I love this pad! It rolls up into one stuff sac (provided). There is a half-inch space between the two adjoined pads to allow for folding in half, but you need not worry about the "spooning factor" it's basically a 2.5 inch, full-size mattress and you'll never notice a gap. When folded, it's just big enough for two people to spoon (if you can spoon all night that is) and is more comfortable for side-sleeping. Let it self inflate for about 2-3 hours while you set up camp and tweak the air fill on either side. Twist the cap tight while blowing or the air will come back out. It also fits perfectly with our Big Agnes, 2-person sleeping bag and will fit most other 2-person bags. You definitely won't be disappointed with this one. Hope this helps!"

CLIFFORD C Yes, one piece. There is a seam in the middle where it folds in half, but it has not hindered our "spooning factor". I like the pad a lot.
MARK D The mattress is one piece but it can be folded in half lengthwise so there is a one inch seam that does not inflate. We have never had spooning problems.
JOHN B The pad is all one piece and permanently affixed together. My partner and I use it without any adverse affects to the spooning factor. The soft texture of the burgundy top keeps your sleeping bag from sliding around too. Most comfortable camp pad I've every owned by far.
FRANK P M It's one piece and bulky. It is a great double width pad. It performs as advertised and is very comfortable. There are no negatives about this pad.
LOUISE F This is not a "two peice" pad, but there is a bit of a seam area in the middle where it folds for rolling and storage. It isn't terribly noticable, but there is a small gap where there is no significant padding. The more air you put in it, though, the less noticable the gap. Mostly I have been happy with the pad.
