Shopper this is called a coffee boiler, but is anything about it coffee specific? can you just boil water for tea or is it specifically made for coffee, somehow?
STEVEN J It's made to boil water for any purpose. I use it to boil water for a java press. It works great. The handle gets very hot though. You'll need to use mitts or some type of towel when pouring. Hope this helps!
REGINA S It is not specific for coffee. We boil water for tea in it and then put three regular bags of Lipton to twenty , eight ounce cups of water. This is just a big, no basket, pot for boiling water. The spout has a coarse strainer, about ten holes. Using both the bale(wire) and handle together works well for pouring when the pot is full. We like it for home use and would buy another one. The shipping packaging did not protect the pot. Porcelain was cracked on the spout. We use it anyways with no problems.
LINLEY G We use this one as our coffee pot, but there is nothing specific that makes it a coffee pot. We put water in it, and coffee pods (that we make by tying coffee filters up with coffee grounds in them) and place it over the fire and we have coffee. We use a smaller one to just make hot water. So really all it is is a water pot. You have to add whatever it is you want to make in it. There is no built in filter like a perculator (sp?).
