Sherri T Does this seat stay in place well without tipping back while seated in it? Also, and VERY important, does it attach to bleachers that are difficult to hook a seat to such as in high school gyms?
LAURA F We've only used them for outside stadiums, and they work very well. If you lean back hard, they might tip over, but for just sitting in them, we've had no problem with tipping, as long as it's attached correctly. Unattached, it would easily tip over, but any bleacher seat would do that. I doubt it would work in a school gym just because those bleachers usually aren't open underneath to allow the strap to hook.
Overall, we've been pleased with them and are probably buying some more for my parents now that we all have high school marching band (and football) to watch.
THOMAS M The seat does stay in place without tipping back. The sides are also adjustable so you can adjust how far you lean back. Also, the seat attaches to the stadium bench via a nylon webbing which snaps together under the seat. So, if you can drop one strap behind the bench seat and then connect that to the front strap you are good to go.
JUDY Q The seat stays in place very well if you affix the seat to the bleachers using the canvas strap on the underside of the seat. As my kids were very active in high school sports, I used the seat in both the high school gym and football field. If the bleachers at your school have the clearance underneath the bench to allow for attachment of the strap, then you will be fine. If there is no access to the underside of the bench, you will not be able to use the strap, though you can still fold the seat and it will sit, unstrapped, on top of the bleachers when not in use.
CARRI V I never use the clip that goes underneath the bleacher if they are the open type. It stays in place just fine. I prefer to sit on the top bleacher if available and I like to tip it back if possible and put my feet on the seat in front of me. I get comments all the time on how comfortable I look while everyone else is sitting on the hard bleachers. I feel lost if I happen to forget my seat. I do not believe you will be able to hook the strap on the plastic gym bleachers. I use it on the outdoor aluminum bleachers though.
JAN F Yes, it stays in place while seated, even when you don' t use the hook underneath to keep it in place. The bottom of the seat has two rubber strips that help to grip the seat to the bleacher.
LYNN R These seats are the best Father's Day gift I ever bought (and use regularly myself). I have never had a problem attaching them to any kind of bleacher. Once attached they are secure, provide back and seat support, plus you can even safely lean back slightly for more comfort. I cannot say enough about these seats, we use them regularly, they are light to carry and easy to store. I would say, grab these and keep them in your car throughout all sports seasons!
GARY S I use the seat for bleachers found in the gym. It will tip back if you lean backwards on purpose. It has a nylon strap that hooks under the bleacher seat to keep it from falling off the seat. There is no metal hook on this chair. The back rest is adjustable to sit up straight or lean back. Pretty comfortable but the seat pad could be better padded. after a few hours of sitting my rear gets sore. Hope that helps with your decision
KIM C This Seat is fantastic! The back is supported by a strap that is adjustable on the side. So, it doesn't lean back into the people behind unless you set it that way. Also the seat length is the same as most bleachers unlike other seats that are longer and interfere with knees behind you. The seat attaches to the bleachers with a buckle and 3 point adjustable strap. As long as there is space for a strap to fit around the seat it will be attachable. This is the best seat I have found for HS football games.
