SunnySports S It is not meant to be used on the ground because the net will rest directly on you. When it is hanging the net is held up by the rope and trees so it is not directly on top of you. I guess you can use it on the groud but it will probably not be so comfortable because it is not designed not to hang, but if you don't mind that then I guess it can be done. You might rip it also, but if you don't mind then ya I guess it "could" be used on the ground. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal
