Shopper How well did it work? Were you happy with it?
RICHARD T The tent works well. So far I have had no issues with it. I use it for bicycle camping and it is light ( not as light as some others, but on a bike its fine), it assembles easy and seems well constructed. I thought about aluminum poles but I preferred the sturdiness of the fiberglass as longevity and reliability are what i like.
VICTOR G Love this tent. So far I've used it twice on two kayaking trips. I needed something that packs light and would be easy to set up, so far this tent has exceeded my expectations. You don't have to waste time stringing the poles through the material loops like other tents, just lie the poles and attach the hooks and you're up, plus the fasteners for the rain hood, along with a door on both sides. This tent can't be beat for the price. I believe this store was the cheapest I ever found.
The only caveat I noticed is that the floor is made of what appears to be the same material as the rest of the tent, i.e. its not the thick plastic tarp-like material you find in other tents, but I guess that's why it packs so tight. I think the floor could be susceptible to tears if one is not careful when picking a spot. I could see a stick, branch, etc being a problem. I noticed this on my first trip so I was just extra careful to have a clear area, but on my second trip I took a cheap 4 dollar tarp from walmart and used that as my protective barrier.
MACK L Love the double doors, which allow my wife and I to escape without bothering one another. Love the cargo net and corner pockets. Roomy enough and reasonably lightweight. The rainfly on the model I bought (2010) isn't all that well designed--the vestibule is too skimpy. We also find putting the rainfly on backwards makes it easier to get in and out of the door. We use a space blanket as a groundsheet because the tub fabric is really lightweight. Overall, for the money, we really like this tent. To get something lighter or something more rugged, you'll have to spend a lot more.
KELLY G I thought it was great! Relatively light and compact, and extremely easy to assemble. We were camping in Big Bend and it was 100 degrees during the day, but the ventilation was great in the tent and we were very comfortable at night. I recommend it!
TERRY R Bought it for my son for back packing. He has used it once so far and didn't have any problems. So far so good!
CHAD J I used it twice last season. Very quick and easy to set up (had to do it in the dark both times). Not a ton of room. But I really am happy with it.
