TERESA L I have not used this chair at the beach, but I have taken it on several week long canoe trips. It does keep you dry if you sit on wet ground/sand. I LOVE this chair because it is so light weight and stands up to hard use. I also take it as a "luxury" item when backpacking.

BRIAN R Well, here's the thing. The chair fabric is not necessarily waterproof but the foam doesn't really absorb any water to speak of. I've had it out on the dewy grass around camp and on rain soaked gravel and I haven't gotten wet while sitting on it. Of course the chair itself is damp on the bottom where it was sitting but only moderately wet - I can throw it right in the pack after shaking off the excess and it doesn't soak anything else.

WILLIAM P That would be a question best directed to the manufacturer but I don't think it would be a good idea for a person who is wider than the chair itself to lean back in it as the straps may not hold.

ZACKARY A I weigh 150lbs and it feels as though it could hold much more.

EDDIE M I weigh 190 and it worked great. I expect it would be fine up to 230.

Zack W It depends where you place this chair; it is being supported by the object beneath the chair. Enjoy it! Zack.

WILLIAM P Haven't been in situation where it got wet. Can't tell whether they use open or closed cell foam but it doesn't matter because the hexagon space is open-air so it won't hold water and would dry out quickly. So I don't view water as a concern. Hope this helps.

JEFF G In looking at the Crazy Creek Website, it appears that the foam is closed cell.

MICHAEL B This chair is constructed from closed cell foam for the cushioning.
