Shopper It says self inflate. How is that done? With a pump or do you just pull a switch and it inflates.
THOMAS S YOU UNTWIST A VALVE AND AIR GOES INTO THE PAD. THE PAD WILL NOT FILL UP ALL THE WAY. IT WILL ONLY FILL UP ABOUT HALF WAY. YOU WILL HAVE TO BLOW IT UP WITH YOU MOUTH THE REST OF THE WAY. IF YOU DO NOT ROLL UP YOUR PAD WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT BLOW IT UP MORE BY ITSELF.
DOUG R All you have to do is open the valve. When you wish to deflate open the valve and press the air out of the pad. Cap the valve to keep from reinflating. Works slick.
CARLOS V HOW IT SELF-INFLATES YOU OPEN THE VALVE AT THE BOTTOM OF
THE PAD AS THE FOAM INSIDE CREATES A VACUUM ALLOWING AIR INSIDE,FOR ADDITIONAL FIRMNESS BLOW IN INTO VALVE .
WHEN PACKING IT AWAY OPEN VALVE , ROLL-UP COMPRESSING AIR
OUT SHUT VALVE AND NOW ITS READY FOR THE NEXT USES.....
JOHN A There is an internal diaphragm that expands when the valve is opened (presuming that you compressed the pad fully before you packed it, and then closed the valve).
This allows some air to enter freely, but not enough to inflate the pad to what is needed for comfortable sleep. You must forcefully blow into the opened valve to inflate pad, then close valve quickly, in order to have enough cushion for proper comfort. This is easy to do if you're not a smoker.
TERENCE C It's a memory -foam pad. Simply open the valve and the pad expands. It's really comfortable. Not really designed for back packing. This pad is more for car camping or short treks. The pillow part of the pad must be inflated manually, but that is just a couple of deep breaths.
CHARLES R pull a switch and it inflates
JOE L It works with negative pressure. You simply loosen the cap and air "sucks in" by itself. Once filled, simply tighten the cap to prevent air from leaking out. When rolling back up, repeat process in reverse order.
MIKE H Open the valve and then due to a slightly negative pressure inside the air slowly enters the pad
JAMES R It doesn't inflate very much. When you roll it up you push most of the air out and then close the valve to keep it compressed. When you unroll it and open the valve, it "inflates" naturally just by pulling air n as it reruns to its normal thickness.
