This was an excellent buy for the price. I purchased the Octane 18x for Day hike use as the packs we had previously had no capacity for rain gear or cold weather layers. This fits the bill nicely for a 3+ mile day hike. For a more detailed review on the pack check out my write up at [@]

My wife and I have started adventure racing, and the packs have performed wonderfully. They hold the right amount of stuff for an 8+ hour adventure race. The pack drains and dries well after creek crossings and has held up so far during a solid month of training and one 8 hr. race, without any signs of wear. Safety pins in the straps seem to keep the adjustable straps from loosening as you do your thing.
