LAREE H It would probably depend on what she wants to use it for. It would probably be a little large for her. The waist belt would go small enough but the height would be big but she eventually would grow into it. Is she looking for one of the backpack styles?

BRUCE G I would recommend one of the smaller backpack models. This would be bulky and not sure if the waist band would allow a proper fit. When my son was 8, he would hike with me using a mini mule bach back model and it fit him well.
