victoria h The sizing is in 10 cm. increments. So if you are 5'1" or under, you would use the 100 cm. poles. If you are between 5'1" and about 5'7" you would use the 110 cm. poles, and so on. You simply have to order a pair recommended for your height to see if that fixed length works for you. These are SUPER LIGHT poles--the best if they feel comfortable to you. At just over 5'1' I found the 100cm a bit short but potentially usable and the 110 cm. too long, so I bought the next lightest model that Black Diamond makes, also the Z construction, but adjustable.

DAVID P Individual preference is most important, but roughly 110 for under 5-6, 120 for over 5-7, and 100 or 130 if you are very short or very tall. I think the Black Diamond website has info on this.
