Shopper Do you end up with extra room out for the day? Is the Revelation sometimes too big for the day trip?
GARY L Well it depends how much you carry of course. I usually fill it, but without having to cram everything in tightly. If you are carrying enough gear to meet an emergency situation (puffy jacket, first aid kit, extra food etc), I'd recommend this. The bigger size adds very little weight, is comfortable, and in my book is desireable to a smaller pack that is a chore to fit your gear, and to find it in the pack.
ERIC M Yes. This pack is a little big, but it has compression staps on the sides to tighten it up to your back. The pack never seems too tall either as the top entry is revised to be more accessible. I came from the Covert Pack, which is just way too small for even day trips unless you don't bring any extra clothes. Here in CO, even on short day trips I always end up bringing extra clothes and I've never ran out of room in it. I'd rather have room for an extra jacket than not be able to bring it and get cold.
JOHN M I think it's a great pack and isn't too big for a day trip. It's nice to have the space and once you get trekkin you don't even know it's there.
QIANLI D Hi. Yes, I would say if you all need is a day tripper, this is on the large side. I use the smallest BD Bandit pack for a very minimalist in-bounds pack & for side-country runs, and I love it.
