jerry r Are the bottom straps removable?
BENJAMIN R No, the bottom straps are integrated. They are made of rather durable leather, however they are not quite up to the quality that you would hope for on longer or harder alpine trecks, they appear to just be unaltered strips with holes punched for the buckles. However for the price they are sure to long outlast what you think they could stand up to without the need for repair. I have used them a number of times and love them, and have a friend who has been using them in alaska for so long that the waterproofing qualities have been worn clean through, and the straps on his are still in one piece and will likely be until he replaces them. For the price and weight they are outstanding. I definetly got more than i paid for.
JASON B Straps cannot be removed. They are pretty important to the function of the gaiter.
CRAIG V The bottom strap is sewn to the upper part of the gaiter. They could be permanently removed by carefully cutting through the stitching, but they are not the kind that can be easily taken off and then reattached on a regular basis. There are probably some ways to modify the strap to do that, but you would have to do it yourself. Regardless, I'm not sure why you would want to remove the bottom strap since that is what keeps the gaiter pulled down and in place.
ROHIT G no, i dont think so
CAROLYN K No, they are not, but they are adjustable. They are sewn on, and quite well. I have worn these several times and they are quite sturdy. I have no concerns with them ripping, unless I would so something extreme...which is highly unlikey :>). As a women with long legs, I purchased the men's style so I would have a little taller gaiter verses the women's version.
AARON S No, but you would not want that either.
ROBERRT I No,unless you cut them off.The fit of the gaiters is good but as others have said the fabric does not breathe too well and I noticed some condensation on the fabric and my pants were slightly damp in several
spots.Compared to other similar gaiters I still think they are a fair value. As for the condensation could be reduced by simply opening at a point for some venting. Most coated products will suffer some condensation regardless of weather or exerseration levels.
AHMET C Hmm... good question. This was a gift to my father so I have only tested them once on myself. If I remember correctly they are like belt buckles, so you can open them, but they are not removable. Hope this helps.
