Comments about The North Face Dolomite 2S 40F Synthetic Sleeping Bag - Long Size:
Bought this bag for motorcycle camping in late Spring through early Fall in the South (NC). The bag is made well and comfortable but does not pack as small as I had hoped...but it's not bad either. I purchased the Large bag due to my height (6'2" 220lbs)and it fits me great! Packing it on the bike is about the same as packing my warmer bag but still compact compared to other bags out there. I would recommend this bag for what it was designed for...warmer weather and tall person.

About Me Casual/ Recreational
Picked up this bag for a motorcycle trip up the Pacific Coast Highway and across Washing, Idaho, Montana and into Wyoming (end of June). It packs quite small so that was a major factor for the purchase. I was worried that the 40 degree temp rating was going to be a bit "iffy" knowing that I would be using this in some areas where the night temp could be in the low 30's at elevation. The temp DID get into the 30s but the bag performed wonderfully! In fact, at times it was a bit warm! It should be noted that I tend to burn a little warm anyway. To paint a complete picture, I used a two inch air/foam sleeping pad and slept inside a Sierra Designs Zola 2 tent (with a footprint). Yep, I was PLENTY warm...Most nights I had to use the rainfly. Also, I am 6'7" (around 250 lbs) and this bag (I ordered the long version) worked fine for me. Sure, a smidge more width would have been nice but I was fine...No complaints. It was warm enough that I usually left the zipper unzipped the whole night to allow various appendages to hang out anyway. :)
