NOEL E MH's website says a large is 36-38 in the waist and 32 in length. I bought a size large pair of mesa pants last year and I believe the fit is more like 35-37 in the waist and 32 in length.

ERIC S I like the pants but cannot answer your question. I purchased the XL size, which fits my 40" waist.

CAREY B The size L pants have a 37" waist measurement. Also, the pants have an internal nylon belt that allows the waist to be cinched tighter. They're a perfect fit for my husband who wears a size 36x33 pant. If I remember correctly, the length was a bit too short but because he wore them with hiking boots, you couldn't tell they were a bit on the short side. Hope this helps!

RYAN M 'canyon cloth' is mountain hardwear's proprietary name for this particular weave of 100% nylon. It's great all-round year-round material.. lightweight, breathable, abrasion and wind resistant.

SCOTT S Canyon cloth is a nylon fabric that is heavier than parachute cloth.

CAREY B I just took a look at the pants - the Canyon Cloth is a mid-weight nylon with a smooth finish - kind of like the material used to make winter jackets. Saying that, the pants are quite lightweight and not to be used for rock climbing or any kind of abrasive sport. My husband wore them as travel pants to England because they washed easily and dried quickly. He does like them, but has some North Face pants that he likes even better.

Zack W The medium will fit a wait size of: 32", 33", 34". The large will fit a waist size of: 36", 38". Enjoy it! Zack.
