D G I'm a size 32W x 34L in jeans so I'm sure I'll need the medium for the waist. But do these run long or will I be ok with a 34L?

JENNESS E I wear a 34w x 32l jean size. The large regular length fit me well. If I was a 34l I might go with the long version.

MARK F These run pretty true to size.

GEORGE W From what I recall the mountain hardware pants are a true 34" length in the LONG size. I own three pairs of the Matterhorn pants in LONG and they are all really 34" long.... hope that helps.

Shopper please help me guys about the size,,is it exactly or have allowance?my waist was 34-35 inches,im confused if i take the medium or large one..

RAMON W Try a medium, the waist stretches. I'm a 36+ and the large fits me fine.

JUSTINTIM X oh,men,your waist is very embarrass.As far as I concerned,medium is 33 inches,large is 36 inches.I suggest you choose medium size.Good luck.

FRANK D I just got a pair of these back in january. My waist is 38 and I got the XL 30inch inseam and they fit great. The belt cinches them up nicely for a comfortable fit. I think the medium may be the way to go for you. The large maybe a bit too generous if you're a 34-35inch waist. Hope this helps....

J ERIC L I have a 33 inch waist and was comfortable in the medium. I bought them for backpacking and loved them. I wouldn't have wanted them to be any smaller on me. If your waist is closer to 35 you would probably want to opt for the large especially since you don't want to be constricted in outdoor activities.

ROBERT G I am a 34. I went with the L and have no problem with it.

Mark K do these have snaps to roll up the cuffs?

ROBERT G No they don't. These pants wear very light and are very breathable. I hiked Great Sand Dunes and Rocky Mountain NP in July of this year and never felt the need to roll them up or zip off the bottom 1/2 even in the heat. Probably in my top 2 favorite pants. They wear especially well under gaiters. I will probably pick up a full length pair this year. Hope this helps, Bob

J ERIC L Although the pants have snaps at the bottom outside of the leg, the snap crosses over the zipper that allows you to unzip the bottom to put on boots. It doesn't seem to be used for rolling up the pant legs. Since they are convertible, you can just zip off the legs and put them in a backpack.

JASON L No, they do not. They have long zippers on the bottom of the pant leg for easy-on-and-off. Hope that helps.

J ERIC L There are snaps at the bottom outside cuff of the pants, but the snap is at the bottom of a zipper which allows you to put on boots more easily by unzipping from the bottom and flaring the lower leg. The pants are convertible, so you can remove the lower pant leg and make them into longer shorts.

ANNA O no they don't have snaps and be careful, the pants are actually quite long.

Mark K Hi Anna I'm looking for a pair of pants for climbing/bouldering. Ideally convertible that can be rolled up to mid calf with a snap or some way to keep them in place. Somewhat warm as well. Any suggestions? Mark

ANNA O sorry no suggestions :-) I am usually not the outdoor kind of a person :-) but these were very light and by bf had to wear long underwear when we were on our canoe trip last September. They were also really wide - not sure if that is what you are looking for... good luck!

RYAN Y There is a snap on the side of the pant with a zipper underneath that. So, yes you can roll them up.

Mark K Thanks Ryan Some of these I've used keep flopping down when theyre rolled up, so really what I was trying to figure out is if they have some way to attach the roll, like the Prana Stretch Zions. is that what they have?

RYAN Y In that case, the snap does not hold the pants when rolled up.

SunnySports S This is a Nylon material, it is super light weight, durable, and doesn't have much of that swoshy sound or crinkle that most nylon materials do. The waist on this in a Large is 36-38 XL 38-40. Stay safe and have fun out there! Neal

GEORGE W Good pants if you like the Mountain Hardware fit and waist design. These are a lighter weight fabric than the Matterhorn convertible pants and have fewer pockets.

J ERIC L I wanted quick dry, convertible pants for hiking and backpacking. These fit the bill. The gusseted crotch was comfortable. They are designed with freedom of movement in mind. The convertible pant legs even have side zippers to put on your boots more easily. I can also attest to the fact that they dry quickly as it rained the second day of our trip. The front pocket shape is a little odd to use, but it looks nice and wouldn't keep my from ordering another pair.

These are great light weight pants that are both comfortable, as well as versatile. They are Extremely breathable. The only downside, is the clip that fastens them, which could be bigger. Another downside is that they need to have drawstrings on the lower pant legs.

Good comfortable pants. Not too light weight, some hiking pants feel like pajamas and I hate that. My only gripe is the back pockets have a velcro closure. Other than that they are a good buy, let's face it The North Face is charging over $100 for comparable pants...I don't see the need to spend it.
