Comments about Marmot Turret 2P Tent:

I only tried this tent in my living room, because when I did, I found that the tent and the footprint came in at over 7 lbs, and that the tent was very spacious. If I consistently had 2 people in the tent, I would have kept it. However, I'm often fitting just myself in the tent, and it was just too large and heavy for backpacking on my own. Positive items noted: The tent felt spacious and comfortable. I could easily see 2 people and a dog being just fine spending a rainy day in it. I could sit up comfortably, and would be able to change clothes without contortions. Although the doors are on the sides, they zip at the end of the tent so you could still get your feet inside without getting dirt all over your bag. The vestibule space is over the "wings", so you could leave items outside without putting them on the ground. I could fit 2 25" pads side by side inside.
Negative items noted: I hit my head on the side poles getting in and out of the tent. Perhaps not an issue for shorter folks? (I'm 6') Lots of long poles - I'm not used to fussing with more than 2, (but setup was still easy). Mesh goes almost down to the floor at one end. I do a lot of desert camping, so I'm picturing the dog running by and sand drifting in, or a little wind just filling the inside with dust. However, this is just a thought - didn't try it outside.
Overall, felt like a quality item, and the color would blend well in the desert.
