First Name L Is this for Nordic walking?
MELANIE H These poles are lightweight and sturdy and helped me navigate the Andes Mountains during a 10 day trek, so they'd likely be sufficient for Nordic walking.
MARY H Yes, these Leki poles can be used for Nordic walking. The baskets at the bottom, if not needed, can be easily removed. If you do not like the tapping noise they make when striking pavement, you can leave the plastic protective covers on the points to deaden the sound.
I have used these poles for many, many miles of woodland, forest & snow hiking and they have proven to be a quality product. Lightweight but very sturdy, with just the right amount of shock absorbing.
JUDITH G I and several of my friends found these poles very useful when we did half dome. Easy to collapse and strap to pack when not needed.
MARY M Not sure if Nordic walking has any specific requirements in a walking/hiking pole - my experience has been using them for hiking and they have been outstanding. Had another pair of Lekis, but got these for a trip to back country Alaska - had to have the light weight as well as the small collapsed length to meet luggage/pack requirements. I really, really liked these and they have done well for all the hiking we have done (Alaska-Denali, Rocky Mountains, Badlands, Glacier, northern Minnesota, etc.) I love the light weight and small size! Wouldn't leave home without 'em! You might need to put on a different tip for walking - Leki offers different ones and they are inexpensive.
