Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?
DONNA D Light weight & temperature rating- specifically for back packing in Yosemite. Plenty warm for sierra high country in September
THOMAS M The size of a sleeping bag is determined by the size of the person using the bag. You don't want to get a bag that is too big because your body will have to generate more heat to fill the bag. My young daughter is going to use the bag so I got her a short bag.
SINZIANA U I picked it because it's a great deal for the money, and it fit my temperature requirements. Plus, I'm 5 2 so I didn't want to carry around a longer bag. I absolutely love it. Stays clean and it's really nice and warm and comfy. Would definitely recommend it!
SHOMEN M I have found Kelty products to be of good quality, and this down bag is quite warm.
RENZO V Bought this one for my girlfriend. They made it in a short size which worked out well for her. It's a nice lightweight bag that compresses down very vell. For the price it's a great bag. Girlfriend said the footbox was a little cold for her on a cold night, but wearing warm socks solved that issue.
KARYNE A A bought this because I am short 5.2. It is great for backpacking but if you are looking to move around this isn't the right bag.
MONICA C Based on price (found it on sale), weight, the temperature rating & research about consumer satisfaction. I have used it already down to 40 F and was very satisfied. It kept me warm, but as I tossed & turned a bit during the night, I was cold for a bit as my body heat had to warm the surface material. I would recommend this bag, but might also recommend a sleeping bag liner. It may keep you a little more comfortable if you toss & turn like I do.
JAMES G I wanted something light, warm and not a lot of extra space to warm up. I'm 5' 4'' and 135 lbs. It is just a tad short but it will be quite satisfactory.
CHRISTINE B This bag was affordable, rated highly by Backpacker magazine reviewers and fit my needs (small and lightweight). I am 5'1" and it gives me plenty of room. Have used it on 3 several day backpacking trips and love it.
ROBBY I Because Of a great mix of down and price. I took it to Spain, grand canyon, and many others and i still love it very much. I recommend it. It's very warm and comfy.
TALI K I purchased this sleeping bag before hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. I was looking for a light weight down bag that would keep me warm continuously night after night. I slept in this bag for three months straight and the only time it failed me was when it got wet from heavy rain. I would recommend buying a waterproof stuff sack for backpacking. This bag packs small, doesn't weigh much and is super warm. After heavy use and four washes it still is great!
JULIE H I really liked how small it compacted down to. The size and the weight alone were major perks in taking this on my backpacking trip. Once I pulled it out of its stuff sack, it fluffed up nicely and kept me warm through the night. My only complaint would be that I wished it was an inch or two bigger. I am 5' 5" tall and it fit me alright but I could have used another inch or two to make this the perfect bag for my size. But the next size up would have been too big and my bag wouldn't have compacted as small so it still is totally worth it. So if you are more than 5' 5" you may want to consiser getting the next size up.
RAYMOND P Value. It is a great bag and cheap. Probably not the lightest or the best at something, but its very very good. I"m sure 99% of us would never notice the differences. We have 4 and love them.
James C i have owned several cheap bags in the past. after one trip to yosemite w/ freezing nights, i decided to get a down bag. backpackinglight had glowing things to say about the kelty bag
BETH ANNE C The price was right for the quality of bag. I have been really happy with the bag. I tend to sleep cold and have been warm in temperatures down to 25 degrees.
LESLIE A I chose this bag after reading several reviews, one man in particular opined that $100 dollars was a very good price for a down bag of this quality.
I also liked the short size, I am 5 feet tall.
I used this bag last September for 2 nights, in the Tetons, and I was happy with my choice.
lastly one review said that this bag was not as effective for multiple days of cold when his body did not have a day of warmth to recover from cold nights
