Shopper I am looking at the Eureka SOS 120 LED Flashlight and the Eureka NiteGUIDE 210 LED Flashlight. I want to buy a flashlight for around the house and for emergencies--such as loss of electrical power. I am not going camping or hiking.
Which one makes the most sense to buy for my purposes?
Joe
JOE A The Eureka SOS 120 LED is a better choice for power-outages. The SOS has longer run time 13 hr high 100 hr low vs 5 hr, 3 x AAA vs 2 x 3V CR123A batteries, Cree led technology, high/low beam, but not as bright.
I got it for my son to use for cub scout camping. He had the brightest flashlight in the pack.
TERRY L The 210 LED flashlight is extremely bright.
I have the 210 and use it at work and have compared it to many other flashlights of similar size and none of the other lts would shine as far as the 210.
For around the house the 120 should fill your needs.
I have a white mailbox which the 210 lt up from 200 feet away.
DOYOUB K I am not sure about SOS 120 LED since I have not used it before. The NiteGUIDE 210 LED should be perfect for your need. The NiteGUIDE 210 LED is small, light, well-constructed, durable, and very bright. I got this for roadside emergency which has been very well for my needs.
However, it might be getting hot if it would be continuously turned on. It uses 123A battery and lasts less than 5 hours, so you might want to have extra 123A batteries in a case of multiple day blackouts.
CHUCK W I have the Eureka NiteGUIDE 210 LED flashlight. It works well and puts out a lot of light in the dark. You can adjust the beam. The batteries last a long time. I use mine for night walks camping and when home I keep it on my bed for a night light when I need one. I am not familiar with the SOS 120.
