Well. It looks nice. But after wearing it for less than an hour backpacking the sleeves soaked through and eventually the inside of the jacket under arms became wet as well. The jacket simply is not waterproof at all, perhaps slightly water resistant at first but not impressively so. I would not recommend this jacket if you anticipate actual use in a wet environment. As a windbreaker it might suffice. My biggest regret is that too much time evolved between my purchase and actual use as a rain jacket. I am very disappointed in North Face and Sunny sports for advertising this as a "rain jacket".

I love the way the flaps covering thr zipper double cover it so that it is as rainproof as the redt of the jacket. It also makes a great outer layer over one of my North Face insulated jackets. The length is greay.

This is a great rain jacket. The sizes seem to run a little on the big side but that leaves plenty of room for a sweatshirt or sweater when the weather cools off. I would definitely recommend especially as the price is really good.

This jacket is comfortable and sheds heavy rain easily. Mine is still very new so time will tell how it holds up and if it continues to repel water as it does now.

Fits well. Not as thick or sturdy as I expected, but that makes it lighter for travel. I did not find it superior to the much cheaper Columbia rain jacket I got with similar specs, and gave away in hopes this one would be much better. The lesson here is that the relentless pursuit of perfection is actually a sickness. Leave well enough alone ;-)

I was pleasantly surprised when my jacket arrived so quickly and in such good condition. The price was right. I always wanted a North Face jacket, mainly because of the name and quality that is talked about. Also, any defect over the life of the product is repaired or replaced by North Face.
