After a little bit of fumbling to get used to the bindings, this snowshoe skyrocketed to ultra premium status. Not only does the binding conform very easily to your boot, it feels like you don't have a snowshoe on your foot. No pressure points, no tightness, just a simple ability to walk in the snow ... or ice ... or slush ... or just about anything. Took this out for the first time in Salmon la Sac, WA and it performed great in all conditions from ice to packed snow to deep wet snow. I purchased the women's version since the men's are normally a bit too wide. Recommend this to anyone who is tired of dealing with your foot falling asleep and having poor traction on multiple surfaces.

Amazingly light weight for how they are built, and what you can do with them. Women specific design makes walking much easier than my old Classic Denali's.

I am new to snowshoeing and absolutely love my new snowshoes! They are light, easy to put on and handle great in the snow. Looking forward to adding snowshoeing to my winter outdoor activities.

These are the lightest snowshoes I have found that are also indestructible and work on icy crusty rocky snow without slipping or tripping you. The one issue is that the straps will sometimes come undone if not clipped in properly; I got an extra set of clips, and now have 2 sets of clips on each strap, facing the opposite directions. This holds the straps in really well. They should just provide an extra set to begin with.

I used these on a snowshoe today.. the bindings are not easy to put on and keep secured for long. Plus side is when they are secure, they're lightweight and grip to the slope pretty well. Just wish the straps were different.

I do like the fit of the shoes and the recent addition of the third strap along the foot. I do wish there is a better way to keep the straps inserted in the clips when I travel in deep snow, as fresh powder tends to push into the securing clips and push out the strap. Maybe a clip opening in the opposite direction, or maybe a series of opposing clips along each strap would work better.

I have used these for the last 2 years. This last week I have snowshoe'd 28+ miles, over 8,500' elevation gain, in 16 total hours in the Utah mountains. WIDTH: Being only 5' 9" tall, I find the more narrow shoe easier to walk in and more stable on side slopes than my tube style snowshoes. I have used the male version (3/4" wider) and trip too much as you step on the other snowshoe. This narrower version is a HUGE plus for me. BINDING: The binding does stay put for me, but I do understand other reviewers regarding the tabs not holding. The fore-most binding bracket does tear up the fabric on the inside of the toe-box opening (and my boot is not too big - Solomon Quest 4D). TRACTION: outstanding. PACKABILITY: They do nest together well if I have to put them in my pack and use my spikes for faster travel. Having said all this - the snowshoe you use, is better than not going at all.

I like mostly everything about the snowshoes except for the binding. It takes a while to set up to get a snug fit. And, unfortunately in my case the heal binding kept coming undone on both feet. Not good. Using it for work to monitor wildlife presence and movements in snow. Using Baffin winter boots in size 9 women.

I use these snowshoes on a daily basis guiding snowshoe hikes into the back country. I also use them on approaches to climb. I've abused them greatly and my first pair finally ripped. Bought the upgraded version and the customer service was wonderful. I'd buy these over and over. The binding system in below zero temps and repeated use holds up and is easy/quick.

I use this snowshoe on steep terrain. The snow/ice gripping frames (not a round tube) make this the choice for the not flat. This purchase was so I could have a second pair to lend to friends who go with me. I wear these for recreation, fitness workouts and Search and Rescue.

I wear my Lightning Ascent snowshoes on rolling terrain in snowy, icy or packed conditions. The grip is excellent and I always feel steady. I have narrow hips and now walk straight in my MSR ascent snow shoes, rather than duckfooted, as I walked in my wider old shoes. The Posilock bindings stay fastened on my feet and heel, unilke the cloth straps of my old shoes. The top straps of my MSR Ascent shoes was slipping out of the clips so I inverted the clips, and the issues seems resolved. I was told in the store to tighten the bindings one past my comfort zone, but after using the snowshoes, my feet were going numb. My boots have a softer, more athletic top so I now fasten the bindings at the point of just snug, and my feet are more comfortable. The televators also making my many hill climbs much easier, and they can be raised and lowered with ease. I am disappointed that the paint on the Ascent snowshoes started coming off after only three wears. I expected better quality and more durability from this top of the line snowshoe and brand.

The straps have a tendency to flop around and slide out of the clips, but luckily you can buy more clips and add them to the straps which solves the problem. Other than this they are fabulous snowshoes; I have the original version, have used them for years, and they have always performed perfectly in all conditions and with any footwear. My favorite for icy, steep, rocky, and unpredictable conditions such as the NH White Mnts. Other people in our group with different snowshoes were slipping and sliding, but not those of us wearing these! Bombproof, excellent traction, very maneuverable and comfortable to wear all day. Light enough to carry on your pack if you have to.

I love everything about these snowshoes except the binding. The tail end of the strap doesn't want to stay in the piece that it's designed to stay in. Even with the end piece lose they haven't come undone, which is great. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
