I like them

I haven't used in super cold weather (like, maybe down to about 20F), but they work well for me. You do have to give the strap a solid push to engage them, but the beauty is that once engaged, they stay connected, keeping your strap ends reliably stowed on your foot. The main advantage over the plastic clips is that these don't fall off and disappear. But the truth is I'm actually using a combination of both, with the studs in the middle of the strap and the plastic clips at the far tail end, and so far, it's working well.

Msr storm clips...

Must have on my Lightning Assents Snow Shoes... Here in Washington the snow in the backcountry is wet and then freezes agaian.
