I love this coat. Extremely warm, more stylish than traditional down coats. Keeps out the icy winds on the south shore of Massachusetts.

I like most things about this coat. It's warm in -10 and below temps once worn with the usual layers and has great windbreaker fabric so no chill and it's fully waterproof. A couple of negatives (1) the hood - I can't wear it as it's far too small. I had read this in reviews beforehand and decided to get it anyway as it had everything else I needed. So, I wear it with a woolen hat instead. (2) There is some leakage of feathers but I find this the case with all down coats I've tried and it's minimal in this case. Another positive - I had bought other coats in a similar price range which were too short. I'm 5'9'' and this is a great length, just above the knee. Overall, I'm really happy with it. As the hood is the only serious negative, I'm hoping Marmot increase the hood size as it's disproportionately small for the coat and it would make it into a 5 star winter waterproof coat if this problem was sorted!

I highly recommend this lovely coat. It fits beautifully, fabric is very nice, coat is very warm. sleeves are long enough, hood is perfect. This is the best coat I have ever owned

Nice coat, little tight thru bust ( and i am NOT busty). Would have liked a belt, but very warm and waterproof, so i am pleased.

I bought this coat as my heart-of-winter, go-to option, and I'm really happy with it. The first trip out was a 22-degree dog walk; with a light fleece underneath, I was warm as toast. The coat has also been great in cold rains in the low 40s and everything in between. The other day, a car drove past and splashed me with icy water from a street puddle. The coat protected me beautifully and cleaned up in a second. When the guy behind me asked me if I was OK, I said sure, my jacket was waterproof. He laughed and said 'you get what you pay for.' I agree! It's even nicer when you don't pay full price. A couple of things about fit. I'm 5 feet tall and medium build; the coat fits me perfectly: curves in nicely at the waist and hits at the knee. I'm not a hood person, but this one seems a little small. and doesn't seem to adjust. I wear the coat with the hood detached. The fabric does make a slight noise; it reminds me of a leather jacket and isn't so bad. It's lovely to have a winter coat devoid of velcro. That stuff always snags on sweaters and knits. This is much friendlier to the rest of my clothes. Overall, I'm thrilled with the coat, especially since it was a somewhat impulsive, that-looks-like-what-I-want website decision. I was tired of being cold and feeling frumpy in my old down jacket. My hunch that this coat would do the trick paid off nicely.

I am amazed at how warm this coat is. I have a North Face Metro (600 fill), but was still really cold on the harsh days (Michigan Winters). This one blocks the wind and keeps you toasty. It does shed some down, but all down coats do at first.

I just happened across SunnySports site while doing an Internet search for this Marmot coat. You not only had the coat, in my size, but you had it for $90 less than a competitor (whom I'd ordered from, only to find out days later that they actually didn't have the coat in stock)...so I opted for your express overnight shipping. Holy smokes! You weren't kidding! I ordered yesterday afternoon and the coat arrived on my doorstep in Arizona before 11am today. Thank you!! You saved me from having to go out last minute, before my trip to Iceland, to find a practical cold weather coat...in Arizona. Not an easy task. I will definitely be shopping with you again. Thank you for the seamless shopping experience. About the coat: it's warm - it does make some noise but it's not crazy loud like some reviews I've read. If you're not using it to sneak up on unsuspecting animals/people, I'll think you'll be just fine. It's also quite flattering for a down coat. It's got a great shape.

I am a school teacher in St Paul Minnesota and this coat is great for going outside for play time or to get buses even on 15 degree days. The hood is really warm too!

I use this coat when walking to classes, going to Dinner/Movie, walking the dogs and whenever I am out and about when it's cold outside. It has a great hood that allows you to just detach the fur or the whole hood. I love how it is a long down coat and waterproof because the weather can change from snowing to rain at any moment.

I only got it for two weeks, wear it for walking to work everyday. I love the fit ( I am on petite size), the style very attractive. It started shed the feathers from the first day, I tried to read all this coat reviews from other customers. Only 2 out of maybe 25 that had the same problem with me. So, I gave it a try for one more week. It got worse, especially I have to wear black underneath the coat for work. Every time I took it off, I looked like just got out from a duck cage. It came to the point that it was really annoying to me. Can't stand it anymore. Thinking about returning it, and get other brand instead. Search other brands (TNF, Patagonia) found nothing I like, the marmot Chelsea coat is really beautiful, and fits my petite figure perfectly. I hope that mine is defective, and wish the send me a new one. I really don't know what to do now.

I walk to work everyday and am a very cold person by nature. After trying the North Face Arctic Park, Suzanne TriClimate and the Patagonia Tres Parka, I finally found the Marmot Chelsea. It's perfect, just what I wanted. Super warm, but doesn't look giant on my petite frame. The XS ran a little large, but I wanted something that was roomy enough for sweaters, but is still pretty flattering. Not as fitted and trendy as the Suzanne, but much warmer. I highly recommend this coat. The only downside is that is does shed some feathers, but I think this happens with most down coats. Also had a great experience with Sunny Sports. My order arrived in less than 24 hours.
